An overview of activities and initiatives within the BLM and other agencies whose goals align with those described on this website.

In addition to the 2017 ROW regulations, the 2012 Solar PEIS, and other land use planning efforts aimed at facilitating solar energy development on public lands, there are initiatives within the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and other agencies whose goals align with those described in this Solar Energy Permitting and Program Resources website. These initiatives aim to:

• Promote renewable energy (solar and wind) on BLM-administered lands,
• Connect renewable energy development to the transmission grid along BLM-administered lands,
• Provide other BLM planning tools,
• Identify and address issues related to avian-solar interactions, and
• Reduce environmental impacts of solar energy development through low-impact solar development strategies.
